THE VISION AND ART PROJECT: Chronicling the boundaries between vision, sight, drawing, and painting

"The principles of vision are universal and the problems faced by artists with eye diseases are relevant to anyone interested in art. Understanding vision not only makes the visual aspects of art more comprehensible, but makes it easier to look beyond the purely visual into other realms of art." - Michael Marmor

THE VISION AND ART PROJECT is funded by the American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF), a non-profit organization committed to the prevention, treatment, and cure of macular degeneration.

AMDF’s initiative, THE VISION AND ART PROJECT, is focused on profiling the lives and work of exceptional artists with macular degeneration. The project is undertaken in service to artists, whose late, post-macular works are often overlooked; as a contribution to art history, with video and audio interviews that are made available to writers and scholars; and as an educational initiative meant to bring public attention to the struggles and adaptations of artists with vision loss.
