A strategic public relations campaign is essential to the successful launch of any new book or product. It provides media exposure that may not be reached through traditional advertising and marketing efforts and, perhaps most importantly, increases credibility among consumers.
We specialize in positioning cookbooks, authors, culinary professionals, and food products with key media to maximize news coverage. Each campaign is streamlined to the project budget and potential availability of the spokesperson (as applicable). We create all press materials, determine story angles, media train, and handle one-on-one contact and pitching for ongoing media relations.
The average campaign runs between one and six months, during which time we provide our clients with biweekly publicity updates.
In addition to our ongoing campaigns, we offer a variety of complementary services.
Press Material Development and Revision
In touch with the needs and wants of the media, we develop creative, informative press materials. Our standard press kit includes: cover letter, press release(s), recipes, biography or fact sheet, and sample media questions. Additional pieces are available and included, as determined by the needs of our client.
We can review and revise existing press materials and offer new story angles for clients looking to approach new audiences and markets.
We use our Website to promote dozens of cookbooks throughout the year. Each entry features one or more of the following: press release, cover photo, author biography, recipe(s), link to the author’s website, link to an online retailer, such as amazon.com.
In today’s fast-paced society, we use the Internet to share information efficiently and creatively. Through this service, a web-formatted press release is sent to television, radio, and print media nationwide — many of whom respond the very same day!
Tracking is an important, but sometimes arduous part of any campaign. Through our clipping service, we search national newspapers and magazines to find articles, which we then photocopy and distribute to our clients.
Event and Media Tour Planning
We draw upon two decades of experience and personal contacts and relationships to pitch, schedule, and handle logistics for appearances and events around the country.
Satellite Media Tour (SMT) Coordination
An extremely effective means of gaining publicity, the SMT secures exposure in a variety of markets simultaneously. We develop a series of pitches for each cookbook, spokesperson, or author, and then coordinate two- and three-hour tours. Note: National satellite radio tours are available as well.
Consulting and Strategic Planning
We provide hourly consultation on cookbook concepts, media angles, marketing and public relations strategies, and brand/platform development.
