Lauren Toyota and John Diemer are the couple behind hot for food. Together they’re cooking up vegan love and bringing the increasingly popular lifestyle to food fans across the globe. They have a knack for creating vegan versions of popular comfort foods like mac and cheese, burgers, caeser salad, and even cheesecake, bringing vegan eating into the mainstream and proving that plant based diets are far from boring.
The couple are from Toronto, Canada and their unique vegan recipes have been featured in Laika Magazine, Women’s Health Magazine, BuzzFeed, Huffington Post, Thrive, and Clean Eating Magazine. They were also Food Network Canada’s first and only vegan bloggers and contributors, regularly sharing exclusive recipes for Meatless Monday, and are contributing chefs to Raw Food Magazine.
hot for food was invited by Gene Baur, the President of Farm Sanctuary and a global animal activist, to contribute an original recipe to his new book Living The Farm Sanctuary Life. The book also features recipes from famous vegans like Emily Deschanel, chef Chloe Coscarelli, and Moby.
