My name is Deanna F. Cook and I’m a kids’ book author and freelance writer. I work out of my home office in Massachusetts and I get lots of help with recipe testing and crafting from my two girls, Ella and Maisie, and their friends.
I wrote my first book, The Kids’ Multicultural Cookbook, when I graduated from college and received a Watson Fellowship to travel around the world and collect recipes from kids. After that, I was a magazine editor for many years, first at Scholastic, then at Disney’s FamilyFun, where I often shared kids crafts and recipes on TV (Good Morning America, the Today Show, Food Network, and more). I am now the content director at Kidstir and write children’s non-fiction books. My newest books are Cooking Class and Teddy Bear Doctor.
