Also, while in Chicago, Lisa stopped by HotChocolate, the restaurant and dessert bar of Mindy Segal, nominated for "Outstanding Pastry Chef" by the James Beard Foundation in 2007 and 2008. What's not to like about a restaurant named for a chocolate drink? Great cheese selection, wine list, and beer selection, not to mention the pastries. |

Last night's Vietnamese extravaganza at Lisa and David's was a resounding success. While blessed with delicious food and extraordinary company, we raised nearly seven thousand dollars!! Kudos to us all for making this substantial donation to PeaceTrees Vietnam for their ongoing projects, as they explore the possibility of constructing a playground in PeaceTrees Friendship Village, Quang Tri Province. Each and every one of you has made a meaningful gift to the people of Vietnam. It was a delight to celebrate with you and know that we are all holding a common vision.
With heartfelt appreciation, Lisa and Jerilyn Brusseau (of PeaceTrees) |
