Media Training

“It was so very productive, a spa for my psyche, with an invaluable box of new tools that I am already applying to my business relationships. Your wisdom, tips and coaching were spot on.  I feel more confident and focused already.”

–Beth Hillson, Cookbook Author

For culinary professionals, cooking is easy. Add fielding interview questions and plugging a cookbook into the mix, however, and the task becomes more challenging.

Whether cooking on television, conducting a radio interview, or performing in front of a live audience, media appearances are no piece of cake. They require special skills, detailed planning, and extensive practice.

We offer comprehensive one- or two-day media training programs designed for cookbook authors, chefs, product spokespeople, show hosts, and food professionals.

Drawing upon more than 30 years of experience working with television, radio, and print media, our approach focuses on realistic, practical materials. The course — which was featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered” (September 2000) — is completely hands-on and provides clients with an opportunity to focus exclusively on improving media presentation and interviewing skills.

A short list of the culinary professionals who have completed our media training course includes: Pam Anderson, Elizabeth Andoh, Melanie Barnard, Robert Carter, Jesse Cool, Marcel Desaulniers, Mary Ann Esposito, Sandra Gutierrez, Lynne Rossetto Kasper, Kristine Kidd, Michael Kornick, Emeril Lagasse, Sheila Lukins, Nick Malgieri, Mark Miller, Cary Neff, Alfred Portale, Susan Purdy, Stephan Pyles, Steve Raichlen, John Sarich, Chris Schlesinger, Zanne Early Stewart, Michel Stroot, Jerry Traunfeld, Charlie Trotter, Norman Van Aken, Andreas Viestad, and Joanne Weir.

In 2006 Lisa was named the corporate media trainer for Levy Restaurants, a group comprising more than 75 sports, entertainment, and fine dining venues worldwide. She now travels several times each year to train chefs on-site at their Chicago headquarters.
