An Atlanta native, Kevin Gillespie is the executive chef and owner of Gunshow (April 2013) and he was voted “Fan Favorite” of Bravo’s Emmy and James Beard Award-winning series “Top Chef” for the show’s sixth season in Las Vegas in 2009. Kevin’s commitment to the use of fresh, organic and sustainable ingredients in all of his dishes is evident in every episode and throughout his menu. Gillespie, a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta, has worked as executive chef at Woodfire Grill, sous chef at Fife Restaurant, Clarklewis, and TWO Urban Licks, and as chef de partie at Atlanta Grill at The Ritz-Carlton. Kevin is known for his locally sourced, seasonal, “progressive American” style, which celebrates the natural bounty of the South. He believes that food and eating is more than just a way to get full; for Kevin, the act of cooking, sharing, and eating provides the perfect means to connect with both food and people. Kevin has his first cookbook, Fire in My Belly, publishing this Fall co-written with Dave Joachim. Currently, Kevin is hosting Co+op, Stronger Together’s video series celebrating the 2012 International Year of Cooperatives. In this series, Kevin travels to food co-ops across the country to share their passion for delicious food and their local communities. |
